How To Improve Your Traffic And Your Search Engine Ranking By Building Higher Quality Links - And More Of Them

Part 1 - Why building incoming links is the best way to increase your free traffic; and how to use the latest web services

Why building incoming links is the best way to increase your free traffic

One of the best things you can do to build your site’s traffic is to build back links - that is links from other sites back to your own .

This is because having more links has a double impact on your traffic – it both

* delivers you traffic directly – and for free - when somebody clicks on that link and

* improves your PageRank . This, in turn – and in time – will bring you more free Search Engine traffic

Most links? So there are exceptions?

Yes – Google ignores duplicate content. However, all the article submission sites make the articles on them available to be copied but only if they are copied unchanged. That means that your article could have a very wide distribution and bring you lots of traffic – but have little impact on your PageRank

You will also find there are some blog sites that accept outside contribution and have a good PageRank . If you submit an article to their site with your link, you may not get much traffic from that link but it will improve your PageRank

How can I increase incoming links for free ?

You can increase incoming links for free

* by putting your content onto other peoples’ websites
* by participating in a Link Exchange program to exchange links with other sites

Posting your content onto other peoples’ websites

There are a number of other peoples’ websites that will not only accept your content – they need it.

* Article sites – Just google “article submission sites” and you will get pages with lists of article submission sites. Articles are a great way to get lots of links very quickly. As articles are expected to be copied, you can use the same article over and over again without change. Google may not like it but the other search engines are not so fussy.

* Blogs – Perhaps you think of blogs as your private diary made public on the net. That’s just one type of blog. Wikipedia has a informative article that shows the others. For your Affiliate Marketing Business, you need to know that there are a number of blogs that will accept your posts . Some of them have good Search Engine rankings so the link(s) from your posting on their site back to your site helps your PageRank .

* Squidoo - Squidoo claims to be the no 1 site for word-of-mouth recommendations on the web. As a user, you have a single page – or lens – with text recommendations and/or links to webpages, blogs, books, videos, online shopping or anything else you want. It’s another way to get a link to your site from a high-traffic, high-ranking site

* Hubpages – this website is similar to Squidoo in its setup but the content is a cross between that and an article

* Wikidot – this website will you’re your online business a free, hosted wiki. The best feature of this is that it is collaborative – it is your change to get contributions from other people.
